Paytm Payment Bank has been banned by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). According to RBI, rules have been violated by Paytm, hence this step has been taken. Many services of Paytm have been stopped from 29th February. But in the meantime an alert has been issued for those running Phone Pay Alert. Let us know what that alert is.
Patym Cyber Fraud Alert
Actually, let us tell you all that when bad news has come only on Paytm. Since then cyber fraud has become very active. Actually the thing is that as soon as the action was taken by RBI on Paytm, cyber fraud is also playing its game in the market. There is no delay in defrauding people. An alert has been issued for Phone Pay operators.
Let us tell you that a new way of Cyber Fraud fraudsters has emerged. You get a call. On which it is being told that your Paytm is going to be closed. And the money lying in your Paytm account will be asked to be transferred to another account.
After this, Cyber Security asks you for Phone Pay Number and as soon as you give the Phone Pay Number, you get an OTP. Then you are asked for OTP because your Paytm is blocked and you want to transfer money to PhonePe through Paytm. But by doing this, money is disappearing from your Phone Pay Account. Therefore, do not do this at all and an alert has also been issued for this.
Let us tell you that such online scams are done keeping in mind the customers of Google Pay and Phone Pay. Pawan Duggal, a cyber crime expert from Delhi, has told that in this malware and human engineering scam, someone deliberately sends money to the account using the gateway on Google or on the phone.
After getting your information, scammers make money disappear from your bank account or hack the bank account itself. So be cautious and do not share any OTP of any kind.
