NASA has recorded two powerful explosions on the Sun on Friday, May 10 and Saturday, May 11 respectively, which produced strong solar flares. According to a statement released by NASA, the agency's Solar Dynamics Observatory recorded two eruptions that peaked at 9.23 pm (local time) on May 0 and at 7.44 am (local time) on May 11. The observatory also captured several photographs of the incident.
NASA Sun & Space released photos of the event on its Peaked at 7:00 pm EDT. NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory captured images of the events, which were classified as X5.8 and X1.5-class flares.'
What will be the effect
Solar flares are powerful explosions of energy. NASA said in its statement that the flames and solar eruptions could affect radio communications, the electric power grid and navigation signals and pose a risk to spacecraft and astronauts.
